Joe McAlexander
President
Mr. McAlexander is E3A Certified as an Advanced Level II Practitioner with a specialty in Personal Development. He is the CEO/Director of Spirit Song Youth Equestrian Academy, located in Anna, Texas, an organization he co-founded that designs and implements equine-assisted programs and coaches life skills development of at-risk youth, families, and organizations.
Mr. McAlexander started his professional career with a BS in Electrical Engineering from NC State University and then served on active duty as a Captain with the US Army Air Defense Command and Air Defense Signal Battalion. He is President and Founder of McAlexander Sound, Inc., Richardson, TX, and the Managing Director and Founder of McAlexander Sound Pte Ltd, Singapore, both technology consulting companies focused on innovation and monetization. Mr. McAlexander has served as a consultant for many of the top tech and communications companies in the United States. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a recognized technical expert in patents, trade secrets, contracts, and other intellectual property matters.
In addition to serving as a partner and director of several other companies, he serves as a technical advisor in secure communications platforms to Vertical Computer Systems, Inc., and its subsidiary Ploinks, Inc., for which he is a member of the Technical Advisory Board.
JimiBeth Myers
JimiBeth Myers has enjoyed a core career as head of marketing in the publishing, franchising, and finance industries, specializing in data, operations, and technology. She is now Director of Coaching at ExecOnline, a professional development company in New York City that partners with elite business schools to deliver a portfolio of 100+ leadership trainings for Fortune 500 company executives. As an executive coach herself, JimiBeth supports global leaders in enhancing their corporate impact through strategy, innovation, leadership, and operations.
Her specialty is helping leaders—from emerging managers to C-suite executives—lead without authority in a matrixed organization, increase executive presence, and establish their leadership brand and mission. She supports high-performing executives navigating critical inflection points transform the way they think, communicate, manage, and lead in corporate environments
The third generation in a professional rodeo family, she grew up on the rodeo trail competing, performing as a trick rider, and working for rodeo production companies. JimiBeth was on the equestrian team in college, and currently supports the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association with social media promotion of their major events.
In addition to her client work in 1:1 coaching with horses and group facilitation, most of her riding is now casual and occasionally includes helping her mom deliver riding lessons.
JimiBeth has an advanced diploma in Coaching from New York University, a bachelor’s degree in Teaching of Spanish, and a master’s degree in Applied Spanish Linguistics from the University of Illinois. She is currently completing a doctorate in Applied Learning Sciences from the University of Miami.
Lisa Bowman
Secretary
Lisa Bowman is the Founder and President of Hope for Hearts Horse Farm, a non-profit Equine Assisted Learning facility. Lisa is certified as an Equine Experiential Education Facilitator through E3A and utilizes her coaching and training skills to assist executives, corporations, teams, groups & individuals to transform into their highest potential by developing skills and behaviors that positively impact their leadership, relationships, communication and overall well-being.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Ball State University. She led Indiana’s largest homecare organization for 14 years, providing leadership to over 350 employees. During that time, she developed leadership trainings and competencies for various departments. In addition to her certification as an Equine Experiential Education Facilitator, she has trained in utilizing CliftonStrengths and Personal Wellbeing and Development alongside Equine Assisted Learning principles. Lisa is a member of the Equine Experiential Education Association curriculum and conference committees.
Kathy Milbeck
Treasurer
Kathy Milbeck, M.A. co-founder of Equinemity, comes to the world of equine facilitated human development with 37 years of experience as a psychotherapist. She received her Master’s in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame in 1980.
As a psychologist at Special Children’s Clinic in Reno, Nevada, Kathy provided assessments and psychotherapy for infants and young children for 10 years, leaving to take a position as an assistant clinical professor at University of Nevada School of Medicine. She held this position for 11 years and has had a successful private psychotherapy practice since 1982.
Kathy began her EAL work in 2006. She is certified in equine experiential educational and corporate coaching by Equine Experiential Association (E3A). She is a Master Trainer for E3A, teaching students how to do this work. She has been on the board of E3A for six years and currently serves more technical roles as the treasurer and the program development chair. Kathy has 19 years of experience with her horses and understands that horses have the ability and sensitivity to awaken heart-based moments of authenticity.
