This E3A Enrichment Class will explore why horses, as co-facilitators of learning, can provide value and benefit to your clients in exploring their strengths. Examine the powerful methodology of incorporating a strengths focused approach to leadership, team development or personal development. Learn how to leverage the Clifton Strengths assessment tool to analyze your clients’ team composition help create stronger, better functioning teams as well as to help personal development clients gain clarity around how to lever their strengths to empower them in creating positive change in their lives. Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to improve their skills in facilitating strengths-based equine experiential learning sessions for both personal and professional development clients. This program is an introductory experience into E3 that is concentrated on facilitation with a strengths-focus.
This program does not cover the E3A Facilitation Model, which is part of the E3A certification training program. The focus of this enrichment class is to provide participants with information to use the Clifton Strengths Assessment in facilitating their EAL programs.This workshop is not meant to guide participants in developing a horse safety program nor will it provide an in-depth examination of horse behavior, developing overall facilitation skills, designing workshops, or business development. All of these topics are covered in the E3A certification training.
Prerequisites: Please read the following book and take the Clifton Strengths assessment prior to the training.
1. Read the book Strengths Based Leadership, Great Leaders, Teams, and Why People Follow by Tom Rath and Barry Conchi;
2. Take the Clifton Strengths assessment (directions and access provided within the book) and submit your top 5 strengths to E3A one week before the training;
3. Complete the E1 Teleclass: StrengthsFinder Assessment Tool-Based on the Book Strengths Based Leadership. If unable to attend a recent E1 class, a link to a recorded teleclass will be provided when you register at a cost.
Take-A-ways for this program include:
Gain experience facilitating learning programs with horses.
Understand the unique power that horses bring to a strengths-based experiential education session and learn how to fully realize the horses’ potential to help clients use their strengths to develop the horse-human partnership.
Experience the E3A facilitation model for doing strengths-based Equine Experiential Education (E3) programs.
Utilize the Clifton Strengths assessment tool; learn about the value of this tool and how to integrate assessment tools into an Equine Experiential Education (E3) program.
Understand how a strengths-based approach can power the productivity of a team, improve leadership skills and empower your clients to uncover the results they desire.
Please note: This program is an enrichment class and not part of the E3A certification program and is facilitated differently than the E3A certification training. It will be facilitated by E3A’s trainers and participants will participate in activities and debriefing sessions, with limited opportunities to facilitate activities with the horses. Cancellation Policy for all on-site workshops:
E3A reserves the right to cancel a training if there are not enough participants and will confirm an event 6 weeks prior to the start date. E3A encourages participants to not purchase plane tickets prior to 6 weeks from the event and confirmation has been given.
All paid registrations are eligible for transfer to another workshop event within a year from original registration. Registration can be transferred from one registrant to another person without penalty or administrative fee.
· Full refund: If cancellation is received in writing up to 30 days prior to the event less a $50 administrative cancellation fee.
· 50% refund: If cancellation is received in writing between 14-30 days prior to the event less a $50 administrative cancellation fee.
· No refund: If cancellation is received in writing less than 14 days prior to the event.
