E3A – Equine Experiential Education

October 2020 Member Professional Development Meeting

“Opening Doors with Mental Fitness – Turning Challenges Into Opportunity“

For most of us, running a business can be stressful.  The voices in our head questioning what we’re doing and how we’re doing it can cause stress, anxiety, self-doubt, frustration, regret, shame, guilt, and unhappiness.  If you’ve experienced some or all of these negative emotions while starting or operating your EAL business, you know how energy-sucking these emotions can be.  But it doesn’t have to be that way. By staying mentally fit you can handle life and business challenges without mental stress or negative emotions. You can perform better, feel happier, and open doors to more opportunities.  Your relationships grow stronger, your riding becomes more focused, and you can build a new set of tools to use with your clients, as well. In this session, Janis Cooper will provide an overview of how to build your mental fitness by squelching your Saboteurs (negative voices/emotions).  You’ll learn about who the primary Saboteurs are, how they show up, then learn techniques for building your Sage (positive emotions).  You’ll also be offered the opportunity to take a personal assessment to understand the Saboteurs that challenge you the most, why, and how to negate them through mental fitness.
